Willibald Kranister is a highly experiencedCentral Banker, who was active in the Austrian Central Bank for decades.

For 12 years, from 1980 to his retirementin 1992, he was a Member of the Governing Board of the OesterreichischeNationalbank as Executive Director, and at the same time Chairman of theexecutive committee of the Austrian Security Printing Works.

1984 –86 he was chairman of the EuropeanBanknote Printers’ Conference.

He headed the personnel division, thecurrency division and the security printing works. From 1989, when the AustrianMint was bought by the Oesterreichische National bank from the Republic ofAustria, he was Chairman of the Austrian Mint Supervisory Board.

 

Since the start of his company,"Creative Management International", in 1992, participants from all 5continents have attended his projects.

The philosophy of Creative ManagementInternational is to activate the participants, encouraging them to developtheir own concepts, including a realization plan.

Some milestones in his career:

Already in 1979 he started the project"Complementing monetary policy instruments by strategic publicrelations".

Upon the issue of a new Austrian banknoteseries in 1983, he initiated the worldwide first extensive publicity campaignabout the security features of the Austrian banknotes as well as the stabilityof the Austrian currency.

 

In 1975 he created the Central BankersClub, a club of the smaller and middle-sized European Central Banks;

In 1985 the Austrian Bankers' Club wasfounded, and in 1989 the Austrian Bankers' College International started itsactivities. Within six years more than 4.000 bankers from 24 Middle and EasternEuropean countries received training in Austria.

 

Some of his books:

He published "Die Geldmacher - VomGulden zum Schilling" in 1985, detailing the history and printing ofAustrian Banknotes.

His second book in this field, "TheMoneymakers International" (1989), focusing on the history and banknotesfrom eight countries on four continents, was published in German, English andChinese. A video version of this book was also produced; to this date it hasreceived 4 awards for excellence.
